A particularly ticklish feline Suin, Armin is the valiant and cheerful Commander of the Longtail Company. However, she is easily tempted, and quickly convinced to go along with the whims of her fellow mercenaries. She loves to collect earrings but since her ears are so sensitive she's unable to actually wear them.

Analysis

Overview

Forced to constantly work to keep her earring collection, Bobeda’s top mercenary harbors a heart as big as her armor. Armin carries the only Shield/Healing combination available to Knights and strong damage mitigation potential with her AoE Blind. She can even provide a little damage, with the occasional Poison tick on tough targets.

Strengths

AoE Shield/Heal

As previously mentioned, Armin carries a strong teamwide shield/heal on the same skill. This shield scales with her DEF stat, as does every other one of her skills.

AoE Blind/Poison

Armin has the unique combination of AoE Blind/Poison on Flash of Light (S2). In addition, her Blind/Poison stacks have significant durations at two and three turns each, which is exceptional considering those debuff types typically last one turn less.

Strong Stun Chance on Debuffed Target

Armin has a very high Stun chance on a debuffed target, for those turns where she isn’t using her AoE options.

Very Tanky

Armin combines the number one Defense stat with high HP to make herself incredibly tanky. In addition, she gives herself a 1-turn DEF buff each time she uses her S2.

Weaknesses

Very Slow

Armin is unfortunately very slow, with just 91 speed. While this still places her over some of the slower Soul Weavers, this is not a good spot to be in Speed-wise. Despite her somewhat low cooldowns, her low Speed can often make them seem longer.

Unreliable Debuffs

Armin unfortunately sacrifices consistency on her debuff infliction for utility with AoEs and significant durations. This balances with her higher damage potential and  leaves her with only a 50% chance to apply debuffs to her targets on her S2.

Stun Doesn’t Work on Bosses

While her Stun is certainly nice for crowd control on small mobs, it will do nothing against bosses, who are unequivocally immune to Stun.

Builds

Buff Kitty

Armin is a strong tank who is able to withstand large amounts of punishment. Her stellar defensive stats allow her to take minimal damage, and she even contributes teamwide damage reduction via Blind. She can also soak damage for other Heroes with the excellent Knight artifact, Aurius (though you’ll want to be careful with this, since Aurius transfers damage based on the other Heroes’ defensive stats, and it CAN kill Armin).

 

Aurius is the best-in-slot Artifact, since it adds Defense, which Armin uses on all of her skills. It also allows her to take some damage for the team, then heal it off with her AoE Shield/Heal.

You may also opt for Sword of Ezera if you are confident that Armin will be hit by a boss, or Prophetic Candlestick for even shorter cooldowns (especially if faced with swarms of small enemies).

 

As a hybrid, Armin can provide some significant Healing/Shielding, inflict some potent debuffs, and take a lot of damage for the team.

Team

Core

Assists will help Armin to get more attacks off and proc her Stuns, since her own Speed is low. She needs others to inflict debuffs so that she can get the increased proc rate on her Stuns, so AoE debuffers make good teammates.

Armin also appreciates CR pushers on her team as well as off-healing, since her healing ability is not as good as a genuine Soul Weaver’s. Adding an off-healer such as Requiemroar, Haste, or even Mistychain to the team helps to improve the overall stability of the team’s health.
